Summary This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer. Washington D.C. is a potential duty location for this position; however, the Washington D.C. office is expected to relocate to Alexandria, Virginia. Selectees may be required to report initially to Washington, D.C and later report to Alexandria, Virginia. The position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO), Office of Human Capital Services (OHCS), Personnel Security Division. The Human Capital Services' (HCS) mission is to advance the Agency-wide Human Capital goals and initiatives related to Classification, Recruitment, Staffing, and Position Management; Employee Assistance and Health and Wellness; Career/ Life Balance Programs, including Teleworking; Pay, Retirement, & Benefits; and Personnel Security Adjudications. As a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist, you will: - Establishes HUD policy for personnel security. Develops and evaluates personnel security standards for HUD nation-wide, designs and communicates strategies for ensuring compliance with such standards and oversees the implementation of appropriate personnel security measures. Takes such actions as may be necessary to enhance the quality and effectiveness of HUD's personnel security program. - Establishes and implements HUD's Suitability for Employment program in accordance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Defense, Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Office of the Director of national Intelligence (ODNI), and HUD policies and procedures. Makes final determinations regarding suitability and/or fitness. - Manages an effective and efficient personnel vetting program to provide prompt, thorough, and comprehensive pre-employment determinations for all perspective federal and contract employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment The official duty station for this position will be in Washington, District of Columbia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal. Key Requirements: Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. A probationary or trial period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
