Job Description

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Pediatrics Research. This position will focus on investigating how IL30/Fgl2 is interacting with oncogene in inducing tumors in livers or other organs. The primary duty for this position is to investigate the interaction between oncogene and immune suppressive molecules in promoting tumor incidences and progression. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Postdoctoral Fellow will participate in study coordination training with faculty mentor and observe lab settings. Postdoc will also participate in research related activities and attend educational events as needed. Postdoctoral Fellow will learn to write research results in a clear and concise manner appropriate for publication. Postdoc will additionally learn to develop skills in immunology and other suitable areas of research to produce high quality research. Postdoctoral Fellow will learn to utilize existing tools for the analysis of tumor evolution from whole genome sequencing data or targeted sequencing data. Postdoc will learn to use established principles and existing methods to time genomic events in tumor evolution. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS The candidate must have a PhD in tumor immunology or related fields with 0-1-year training under the title of postdoctoral fellow. Must have experience in publishing high impact papers as first author in his/her previous training program. Expertise in immune system understanding and some good knowledge in IL30/Fgl2 research. Some experience in bioinformatic analysis will be a plus. POSITION INFORMATION MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
