JOB REQUIREMENTS: Principal Architect Annual Salary Range: $94,764.80 -$114,670.40 Closing Date: Monday, September 25th, 2023 JOBSUMMARY:Responsible for supervising, managing, and leading the SubjectMatter Expert unit, one of several units within the Architecture,Engineering, and Environmental Services (AE&ES) section of MilwaukeeCounty, which is charged with the planning, design, construction, andproject management of County capital improvement projects. The PrincipalArchitect serves as Milwaukee County's subject matter expert in thefield of architecture and manages a team of subject matter experts inthe fields of architecture, electrical engineering, mechanicalengineering, and other building related disciplines. The PrincipalArchitect manages projects and oversees and manages capital projectportfolios of internal client departments such as the Zoo, Parks, orother departments and works to drive exceptional customer service andteam performance. JOB DUTIES: Leadership and General Management of theSubject Matter Expert (SME) Unit - Lead and supervise the team ofproject managers, architects and engineers that make up the SME unit.Continuously improve the way the unit operates. Develop a culture ofsafety, inclusion and integrity that aligns with County values andimproves outcomes. Be an engaged member of the DAS Facilities Managementteam. Represent Milwaukee County at Board Meetings, conferences, and inother official capacities. Building System Expertise - Lead the SME unitin providing subject matter expertise in the fields of architecture andother building systems for Milwaukee County. Act as a subject matterexpert in the field of architecture. Develop and set design,construction and operation and maintenance standards and guidance forMilwaukee County use. Provide quality assurance and quality controlreviews of design plans and specifications. Provide service to facilitymanagers to assist in issues as they arise and provide technicalguidance, expert opinions, and recommendations on a solution. Work withclient departments to develop project scopes and cost estimates. ProjectManagement - Manage projects and lead the SME unit in controlling allaspects of projects including scope, schedule, budget, and quality.Support and develop a culture of project management excellence.Coordinate with project stakeholders, client department partners, andlocal, state, and federal agencies....
