As a Pharmacy Resident with Medical City Arlington you can be a part of an organization that is devoted to giving back Job Summary and Qualifications The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident is responsible for providing complete pharmacy services in coordination and cooperation with department professional and support staff, consistent with department policies and procedures for operation and clinical practice, meeting all the requirements and obligations of pharmacists on staff. This includes monitoring patient medication regimens and providing appropriate interventions. The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident actively participates in rotation activities, including: team meetings, rounds, and other interdisciplinary conferences/meetings that occur. + Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system. + Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals. + Comply with facility policy and procedures and regulatory requirements. + Monitor drug therapy regiments for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interaction, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose. Provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners. + Suggest appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed. + Sustain the hospital formulary, minimize nonformulary procurements, utilize therapeutic interchange and promote rational drug therapy selection. + Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary and bedside rounds. + Complete drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and implement improvements identified. + Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients. + Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely Support and participates in the goals of the organization's quality improvement, risk management and patient safety program to include, but not limited to, National Patient Safety Goals, Core Measures and HCAHPS medication-related initiatives. + Maintain professional competency sufficient to meet current and future needs of the facility. + Participate with various nursing and medical staff committees as necessary. + Provide in-services to pharmacy, nursing, and/or medical staff. + Practice and adhere to the HCA
