About The Job Red Hat's North American Public Sector Services team is looking for a cleared senior-level Consultant with a background in enterprise Linux, system management, automation, identity management, and a polygraph clearance to join us in Maryland. In this role, you'll deliver solutions that solve business challenges through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. You will be a vital promoter of adopting Red Hat's solutions for customers by using your technical expertise and interpersonal skills. Youu2019ll need to have a blend of solid technical experience, awareness of open source solutions, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level. This position requires daily on-site work in the Fort Meade area and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph . _This position is contingent upon award or funding approval._ What You Will Do u2022 Guide customers in building scalable, optimally managed solutions and adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat technologies u2022 Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies u2022 Travel to client locations Monday-Thursday After joining Red Hat, You will undergo an intensive customized training program on Red Hat technologies and services solutions. Here's how your skill set will evolve and what you'll learn during your first year in the role: In two months, be prepared to join a project team by acquiring the following: u2022 Understanding of how to build production-ready technical solutions integrated with existing enterprise systems u2022 Learn technologies and consulting skills to enhance your abilities through enablements designed and taught by Red Hat experts and Red Hat certification u2022 Gain exposure and collaboration within Red Hat Services & the larger organization through everyday networking and community events Within six months, be ready to support customer success on a project by attaining the following: u2022 Successful, collaborative delivery of customer projects as a technical lead through expertise in Red Hatu2019s technologies u2022 Knowledge of how a customer use case can be developed into a project plan and how those requirements align with Red Hatu2019s technologies u2022 Continue expanding your knowledge and network, both internal and external, through enablement, communities, customers, and meet-ups Within 12 months, begin to demonstrate technical leadership by accomplishing the following: u2022 Successfully implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments u2022 Active engagement and knowledge sharing with our internal and external communities of practice on lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos What You Will Bring u2022 Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph u2022 Experience with delivering an implementation based on an architectural design u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead a technical project, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation u2022 Ability to identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work u2022 Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders u2022 Experience with Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative u2022 Experience utilizing Red Hat Satellite to deploy and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems u2022 Experience with Identity Management technologies, including Red Hat Identity Manager, Microsoft Active Directory, and other identity providers u2022 Experience with PIV or Smart Card authentication u2022 Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation and automation platforms like Chef and Puppet u2022 Broad and deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies like OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure u2022 Experience across one or more vertical industry areas u2022 Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills u2022 Associate or Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a technical discipline u2022 Must be able to work in-person on customer sites daily The salary range for this position is $130,420.00 - $215,300.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hatu2019s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
