Job Description Our client is seeking a Senior Director, Finance to lead the European finance function and serve as a key member of the global Finance leadership team. The role is responsible for strengthening financial governance, driving process improvement, and ensuring robust financial control, compliance, and reporting across a complex, multinational environment. Based in the UK, the role oversees entities and businesses worldwide and works closely with the global Finance organisation and corporate headquarters in the US. The role requires the ability to travel up to 20% of the time. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Governance u2022u2003Lead and develop the European financial controlling function u2022u2003Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, controls, and policies in line with global standards u2022u2003Ensure strong corporate governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks u2022u2003Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability Accounting & Reporting u2022u2003Own the general ledger and accounting operations across European entities u2022u2003Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes u2022u2003Ensure accurate statutory and group reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, and UK GAAP u2022u2003Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and accounting advisors Planning, Budgeting & Control u2022u2003Lead divisional planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range business planning processes u2022u2003Produce timely and accurate management reporting and performance analysis u2022u2003Provide financial insight and variance analysis to support leadership decision-making Cash Flow & Treasury u2022u2003Manage, control, and optimise cash flows across the European entities u2022u2003Oversee intercompany funding arrangements, transfer pricing mechanics, shareholder loans, and settlements u2022u2003Manage banking relationships and treasury operations, identifying opportunities for cash optimisation Tax & Compliance u2022u2003Take full responsibility for entity-level statutory tax and VAT filings across European entities u2022u2003Oversee EU tax positions, including group VAT compliance u2022u2003Manage relationships with external tax and accounting advisors and ensure timely, accurate filings u2022u2003Coordinate tax matters with the global tax function and ensure compliance with local and group requirements We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
