CNC Machinist Job Summary The CNC Machinist is responsible for machining large, heavy industrial components used in power plants, refineries, and other industrial facilities. This role requires experience with CNC and manual machining, including Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) and Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs), to produce and repair large parts to precise specifications. Shift: 1st shift (7am - 3:30pm) Pay: $20 - $26/hr (DOE) Key Responsibilities HBM (Horizontal Boring Mill): A heavyu2011duty machine tool with a horizontally oriented spindle, designed for boring, milling, drilling, and facing large, heavy workpieces such as housings, frames, bases, and structural components commonly used in industrial plants. + Set up and operate CNC and manual Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) to machine large diameter and heavy components. + Set up and operate CNC and manual Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs) to perform boring, milling, drilling, and facing operations on large parts. + Machine and repair industrial plant components such as housings, bases, frames, and heavy fabrications. + Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions to meet dimensional and quality requirements. + Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to verify tolerances. + Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds appropriate for largeu2011scale machining operations. + Conduct inu2011process inspections and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and surface finish. + Maintain machines, tooling, and fixtures while adhering to safety and quality standards. Required Qualifications + CNC Machinist with strong manual/set up machining experience + Handsu2011on experience machining large parts using VTLs and Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM). + Ability to work with heavy components and complex setups. + Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding tolerances. + Comfortable working in an industrial plant or heavy manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications + Experience machining parts for power generation, refineries, heavy industry, or industrial plants. + Familiarity with large fixturing, alignment, and multiu2011side machining setups. + Experience repairing or refurbishing worn or damaged industrial components. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $39.25/hr.
