Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors. Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services. May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies.Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes.Supervises practice experience for dietetic interns, dietetic technicians, registration eligible dietitians and new employees, participates in research, performance improvement, and initiatives.Enters complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation. Enters nutrition orders when authorized by Medical Staff policy and procedure to reflect patient care.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office• Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet software• Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc.Education:• Bachelor's [Required]• Master's [Required]Field of Study:• of Divinity degree• of Science in Spiritual Care or other graduate level degree (72-hour minimum) in theology, religion or related fieldWork Experience:• 3+ experience in a clinical setting [Required]• Didactic program with strong focus in clinical nutrition [Preferred]Additional Information:•Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
