Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Monroe, North Carolina

A Med/Surg/Telemetry RN role is available for a highly skilled registered nurse with at least 2 years of med/surg or telemetry experience. This contract position starts in early February 2026 and runs through early May 2026. Key Responsibilities:Delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as stroke, respiratory illnesses (flu, pneumonia, COVID), renal failure, wound care, and peritoneal dialysisCardiac rhythm interpretation and managing non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)Managing drains, tubes, PIV starts, and central linesCollaborating with CNAs for patient ADLs, mobility, and feeding assistanceUtilizing telemetry monitoring technology and virtual nursing resources for patient carePerforming phlebotomy and working alongside RT, hospitalist, and intensivist teams for 24/7 patient coverageQualifications and Experience:Current RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certificationsMinimum 2 years of med/surg or telemetry nursing experience, though first-time travelers are welcomeProficient in Epic EMR system, IV pump usage, medication dispensing systems, and patient monitoring equipmentSkilled in basic med/telemetry nursing procedures and technology utilizationAbility to float within the regional hospitals when needed (travel time compensated)Shift and Schedule: 12-hour night shifts Approximately 5 shifts per week (5.25 as indicated) Location Overview:Located in Monroe, North Carolina, this hospital is a Level 3 Trauma center with 241 beds and stroke and chest pain certifications.
