Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Faribault, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with a strong background in corporate tax and general accounting practices. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage financial tasks efficiently while ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. u2022 Manage sales tax filings and resolve any discrepancies or issues. u2022 Record and monitor journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Oversee the general ledger and ensure all accounts are reconciled regularly. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data and reports. u2022 Perform regular audits to identify and correct errors in financial documentation. u2022 Provide support during tax preparation periods and assist with year-end closing activities. u2022 Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. u2022 Assist in implementing and improving accounting processes to enhance efficiency. u2022 Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing. u2022 Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and processes. u2022 Proficiency in managing and reconciling journal entries. u2022 Familiarity with general ledger accounting and financial reporting. u2022 Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. u2022 High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and tools. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
