Production Plant Manager

Job Title: Production Plant Manager Job Description We are seeking a dynamic Production Plant Manager to take charge of our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will provide floor-based production leadership, ensuring the smooth execution of daily schedules and maintaining high production output. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring and improving throughput, labor efficiency, and quality. Responsibilities + Lead floor-based production and maintain a visible leadership presence. + Own daily schedule execution and production output. + Monitor throughput, downtime, labor efficiency, and quality. + Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. + Make real-time production decisions and escalate appropriately when needed. + Take responsibility for outcomes and learn from mistakes. + Build credibility through action and follow-through. + Identify inefficiencies in material flow, changeovers, staging, and labor allocation. + Implement structured improvements to drive measurable gains in output, cost, and reliability. + Build sustainable systems, not just temporary fixes. + Lead and coach production leads and hourly workforce. + Set clear expectations around urgency and accountability. + Develop bench strength and cross-training depth. Essential Skills + Experience in production management and supervision. + Background in industrial/manufacturing engineering. + Experience in manufacturing environments and managing workers. + Skills in process improvement, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement. + 2+ years experience Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in packaging, blending, chemical, food, or CPG manufacturing is a plus. + Exposure to GMP or regulated environments is advantageous. + Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities are beneficial. + Lean / Continuous Improvement exposure is a plus. + Bachelor's degree in engineering or management from an accredited college is required. Work Environment This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership position in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. The role requires spending 85% of the time on the production floor, driving output, improving processes, leading teams, and making real-time decisions. Work hours are Monday-Thursday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with Fridays off if work is completed. The position offers autonomy for improvements with no micromanaging and is intended to develop into a Plant Manager role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $49.00/hr.
