Major Gifts OfficerOverviewThe Major Gifts Officer plays a key role in advancing N Street Villages (NSV) development goals by managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects with the capacity to give five- to six-figure gifts. This role is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a high-functioning major donors portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, this role will work closely with both the VP and the CEO in raising revenue that generates long-term financial stability and directly advances the organizations mission.The successful candidate will be a proactive, strategic thinker with a proven record of success in securing significant individual philanthropic support for nonprofit organizations.Key Role Responsibilities- Support the VP of Development in growing NSVs major donor program (gifts of $10,000+)- Maintain an active portfolio of major donor contributors to NSV- Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for each portfolio donor- Identify, qualify, and upgrade prospective donors using Raisers Edge NXT, wealth screening, and prospect research tools- Analyze prospect research and use moves management to steward donors towards major gifts- Conduct regular donor outreach through in-person and virtual meetings, calls, proposals, events, and tailored stewardship communications- Ensure accurate and timely logging of donor contacts, next steps, and relationship notes in Raisers Edge- Track revenue, donor activity, and progress toward fundraising goals- Generate reports on portfolio performance and major gifts pipeline health- Meet or exceed annual major gifts revenue goals- Support the VP of Development on engaging and cultivating planned giving prospects and organizational affinity groups- Support fundraising events, special projects, and other development initiatives as needed- Participate in evening and weekend events as required to support cultivation and fundraising efforts- Partner with internal stakeholders to stay informed on programs, priorities, and impact to effectively engage donorsKey Organizational ResponsibilitiesIn addition to role responsibilities, every staff member has the following responsibilities as a part of their employment:- Models and reinforces the mission, vision and values of the Village:- Treats everyone with dignity and respect, including colleagues, clients, and vendors- Nurtures our community, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and mutual growth- Is open, honest, and constructive- Moves forward together and takes action together- Completes assigned trainings as required by N Street Village and in accordance with grant contractual requirements- Protects clients personal health information by maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other relevant health care-related IT security regulations- Responsibly manages resources, ensuring they are used with integrity, transparency, and care to maximize impact.- Demonstrates commitment to maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality, recognizing the importance of reliability in supporting the organizations mission and operations.- Performs other duties as assigned on an as-needed basis Knowledge, Experience, and Skills7-10 years of progressive experience in major gifts fundraising and donor relationsQuantifiable success managing a portfolio of major donors with a proven track record of securing five- and six-figure giftsExceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to connect authentically with high-net-worth individualsStrategic thinking ability, with comfort making independent decisions about donor engagementStrong written and verbal communication with ability to craft compelling donor communicationsDee familiarity with the donor lifecycle and successful execution of moves management strategiesExperience working with donor databases (Raisers Edge preferred) and research tools (iWave)Excellent organizational skills
