The Aldinger Laboratory in the Norcliffe Foundation Center for Integrative Brain Research at Seattle Childrenu2019s Research Institute has an immediate opening in genomics and neurodevelopment. We use primary human tissues and stem cell models to understand how specific genomic variants lead to pediatric neurological diseases. Our goal is to translate these developmental insights into actionable molecular pathways and targeted therapies for children with rare genetic conditions. The ideal candidate will spend most of their time making contributions to new and on-going laboratory projects, requiring the ability to use independent judgment to address tasks and projects, and will identify and refine existing procedures and practices. Assist with performing routine human cell culture, basic molecular and cellular biology techniques, and genomics assays and analysis (spatial transcriptomics, long-read sequencing). Direct experience with more than one of these techniques is preferred. Required Education and Experience Bachelors Degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or related field. At least one (1) year of experience in a laboratory/research setting and/or experience with molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Required Credentials N/A. Preferred + At least two (2) years of research experience in: human iPSC culture techniques AND/OR computational and data management tools (e.g. using R, Python, HPC environment, REDCap, etc) + Ability to work, collaborate, and communicate well within a multidisciplinary team. + Must be self-motivated and able to take initiative and work independently. + Meticulous organizational abilities. + Strong written and oral communication skills. Compensation Range $23.15 - $34.73 per hour Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
