Job Description

As a member of the Legal team, the Senior Counsel u2013 Employment and Litigation (CC) is a core member of UL Solutionsu2019 legal function. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Disputes (ACG), the CC will work closely with Human Resources (HR) and with other business leaders to coordinate and assist on the following matters within the Chief Legal Office (CLO). + Advise HR and relevant business stakeholders on day-to-day employment matters, including wage and overtime standards, privacy rights, employee benefits, employee agreements and policies, employee performance management, discipline, termination, and investigations pertaining to allegations of harassment and discrimination. + Assist in the coordination of legal advice to HR and relevant business stakeholders on employment-related laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, National Labor Relations Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, state workeru2019s compensation laws, and related laws, as well as relevant employment-related laws in other jurisdictions. + Manage global docket of potential and active employment-related litigation and administrative agency matters. + Monitor and analyze developments in employment laws and regulations, assess risk, and recommend strategies to support proactive compliance. + Coordinate management of external counsel, as necessary, in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with CLO Billing guidelines. + Coordinate third-party vendors retained by UL Solutions on any litigation or dispute matters. + Perform other legal duties as directed by the ACG or other CLO leadership. + JD degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department + Bar admission in good standing; preference for Illinois + In-depth knowledge of employment and labor laws and regulations + Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills + Ability to use sound judgment, provide guidance, and make key decisions in a demanding and fast-paced environment + Ability to contribute as a team player and work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and business leaders to fulfill and advance company strategy + Ability to multi-task and organize workflow independently in response to the company's strategic priorities and objectives + Willingness to travel on limited basis What youu2019ll experience working for ULS UL Solutions has been pioneering change since 1894 and weu2019re still leading the way. To learn more about us and the work we do, Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000 USD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
