Utility Groundman / Construction Laborer

As a Groundman working, you will be responsible for general support to our excavation team and become a part of the support line for maintaining vital infrastructure. Most days are different, working in a dynamic, safety-oriented position. The ideal candidate is willing to work independently with little to no supervision at times and other times with co-workers and other contractors. Work is varied between outside, inside, in state and out of state; and a willingness to stay overnight out of state from time to time. The following is a summarized list of responsibilities: Work under the guides of specified safety protocols Assist with operators at construction sites Manual digging, lifting, climbing up and down vehicles Involved with vehicle and equipment operations, including to and from jobsites Use of hand tools, shovels, rakes, ladders, picks etc. Assist in maintenance of vehicles and of the shop, other duties as assigned Ability to read, see in color, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, lift up to 75 pounds You take pride in your work productivity You will lean and experience: Learn how to read utility mark-out responses and tolerance zones, etc Learn the corresponding colors to utility mark-outs in the field Learn to become a certified excavator and taking other industry related trainings Learn to troubleshoot problems as they arise Qualifications / Requirements: Safety minded; Adhere to industry safety procedures and protocols Valid drivers License with (3) or more proven years of driving experience and clean record. CDL is a plus or ability to obtain it (with reimbursement possibilities) Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical evaluation and background check []{style=font-size: 7pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-weight: normal }
