Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional assists individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth and development of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home, community or residential setting. DSP's works directly with the resident and provides supports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills. DSP's should follow the guidance of the resident/patients Individual Service Plan. + Responsibilities: + Provide supervision and appropriate behavior support to individuals. + Assist with personal care and daily living skills (hygiene, dressing, routines). + Engage and participate in daily activities and recreation with individuals. + Support community participation and provide transportation as needed. + Implement Person-Centered Plans and follow behavioral support strategies. + Document services and incidents accurately using agency systems + Required Experience: 1 year of recent experience (minimum) in a similar role. + Previous/recent experience working with individuals that have developmental/intellectual disabilities preferred. + Previous/recent group home experience preferred. + Location: Maryland's Eastern Shore + Position: Direct Support Professional + Pay Rate: $21/hr + 40hrs per week = $840 + Hours worked over 40 will be paid out at 1.5 the hourly rate ($21 x 1.5 = $31.50) + Shifts: + 8:00am-4:00pm + 4:00pm-12:00am + 12:00am-8:00am + Part-time, PRN, weekends, etc. available Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
