Traffic Design Engineer

By joining our team, youu2019ll be a key member of our Traffic Engineering group in the San Antonio, Austin, or Houston, TX offices. Weu2019re looking for someone to support our traffic PS&E projects such as signal design, ITS, pavement marking, and signing, etc. Youu2019ll work within a team that also works on a variety of transportation and traffic engineering projects related to traffic operations, safety analysis, corridor studies, traffic simulation modeling, signal timing & operations, and traffic design. Work will be performed utilizing traffic design software like OpenRoads and SignCAD, and with traffic engineering software including Synchro, Vissim, Highway Capacity Software (HCS).Principal Duties and Responsibilitiesu2022 Performs civil design for a variety of projects, drawings, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as required by assignments.u2022 Perform traffic analysis tasks from data collection, reporting analysis results, and writing technical reports.u2022 Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians.u2022 Reviews drawings supplied by contractors, clients, and engineers then recommend necessary changes.u2022 Research design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.u2022 Provides project cost estimating.u2022 Maintains effective communication with project team members and project leads.u2022 Assists in preparation of technical reports.u2022 Research federal, state, and local government standards and regulations.#LI-JM5 u2022 BS in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation/Traffic Engineering disciplineu2022 2 years experience in transportation/traffic engineering designu2022 Experience with traffic software including Synchro, Vissim, or HCSIdeally, youu2019ll also have:u2022 PE licenseu2022 Previous work experience in traffic/transportation engineeringu2022 Experience with design software (i.e., MicroStation, OpenRoads, etc.)u2022 Familiarity with Highway Capacity Manual, MUTCD, HSM is a plusu2022 Previous work experience with TxDOT and other Texas municipalitiesJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
