Job Description

The purpose of this position is to develop, manage, and coordinate field-facing, asset inspection, data collection and data maintenance initiatives for Southern Company Gas (Gas); to oversee data transfer activities within Gas asset inspection and asset management applications. This role provides field data coordinator support across a variety of programs u2013 including but not limited to Asset Protection, GIS, Legacy Cross Bore, Leak Survey and Emissions Survey. This role also provides strategic and technical direction in the development/maintenance of field asset data collection applications to support GIS, Field Operations, Compliance, Sustainability, R&D, and other stakeholders. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: + Coordinates and supports the maintenance of asset field inspection data collection applications + Importing data into Maximo + Provides content and document management via various applications + Serves as Subject Matter Expert on asset field inspection data collection requests and outlines requirements + Assists with the execution of field application testing and the documentation of defects + Completes post review and editing of field collected data as needed + Supports the development of IT systems and applications related to asset data, asset performance, compliance assurance, and/or operational efficiency + Maintains PHMSA regulation knowledge and experience including 49 CFR Part 192 + Demonstrates ability to enhance program management functions by pursuing opportunities for improvement of existing methods, tools, or workflows + Audits the performance of leak survey (in accordance with the Leak Survey Manual) + Develop queries and reports from mobile advanced leak detection (MALD) vendor provided, cloud-based customer platforms + Operates and maintains GPS hardware, software, and equipment + Ensures data transfers into the gas leak survey application are established and functional + Supports Program Managers with field inspection data collection, management, reporting, and visualization + Analyzes current business processes and system data to recommend best practice field inspection data collection solutions + Interfaces with the Technology Organization and vendors for the MALD technologies to drive improvements in the collection, reporting, and data analytics solutions for MALD survey data + Develops and maintains dashboards, forms, and sites in executing QA/QC of the various field inspection and maintenance programs + Provides subject matter expertise on GAS geospatial field inspection data collection issues (GLS enhancements, GIS and other technology strategy, process improvements, etc.) + Builds and maintains cohesive working relationships with internal and external, application customers JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience Required: + Bacheloru2019s degree in Geography/GIS, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or 5 plus years of relevant work experience in data analytics and visualization with data quality control/assurance Preferred: + 2 plus years pipeline or local distribution company experience + Masteru2019s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field. + Natural Gas experience _Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered_ Related Work Experience: Required: + Working knowledge of some combination of the following applications: ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcSDE, GLS, Maximo, Smartsheet, Excel and Power BI + Effective written/verbal communication + Work with existing job aids and standards and assist development and roll-out of new procedures as needed + Proven organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills + Assist in the development and deployment of field data collection systems including Esri mobile applications, pending Maximo program module releases, and/or leak survey applications + Experience with field GPS, leak survey, emissions survey, and cross bore data collection activities + Experience with content and document management applications with integrations into workflow Specific Skills & Knowledge: Required: + Geoprocessing and spatial analysis skills + Esri ArcGIS Online u2013 intermediate proficiency + MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) u2013 advanced proficiency + Maximo u2013 intermediate proficiency + Click mobile application u2013 basic understanding + SQL RDBMS u2013 intermediate proficiency + SmartSheets u2013 intermediate proficiency + Microsoft PowerBI u2013 intermediate proficiency + Content/Document Management system u2013 intermediate proficiency + TEAMS/SharePoint u2013 intermediate proficiency + Relational database management systems u2013 intermediate proficiency + Financial Accounting u2013 intermediate proficiency + Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies + Ability to function independently and as a team leader + Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities + Ability to work effectively with limited direct supervision Preferred: + GLS u2013 advanced proficiency + GCMA data tables u2013 intermediate proficiency + AR data tables u2013 intermediate proficiency + Field Quality Assurance audit execution u2013 intermediate proficiency + Large scale data conversion project team experience Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: + 50% office 50% field Disclaimer: _This information describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this job.
