Description The Pre-Press Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting pre-press files at job initiation, throughout development, and prior to the plate-making stage to ensure all files are accurate, error-free, and properly formatted. This includes reviewing customer files, step-and-repeat layouts, and 1-bit TIFF output files to verify they meet all customer packaging specifications and quality standards. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure clarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities. Areas of Responsibility: + Support and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to all workplace regulations, policies, and safety initiatives, including promptly reporting all first aid incidents, accidents, and potential hazards. + Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with the 5S program. + Collaborate with the supervisor and Packaging Engineer on critical projects, timelines, and any potential delays or issues. + Perform detailed inspections of pre-press production files to verify spelling, text accuracy, ingredient lists, nutrition facts, UPC numbers and sizing, element positioning, and die lines in accordance with customer packaging specifications. + Inspect pre-press output files (1-bit TIFF) to ensure they meet established quality standards and job requirements, including: + Verifying output files against the production sheet for: + Number of colors + Repeat configuration + Percent of distortion + Round across + Eyespot positioning + Guideline placement + Unwind direction + UPC size + Bar code reduction + Line screen + Color rotation + Confirming proper trapping and pullback + Reviewing images for clarity, defects, or imperfections + Checking dot shape and consistency + Redirect files to the appropriate personnel for corrections or revisions when issues are identified. + Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
