Summary This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT & will remain open until closing date or until filled. Qualified applicants will be referred to hiring managers at regular intervals. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Responsibilities The Inpatient Mental Health Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Attends, observes, and leads nurse-led psychoeducational groups, uses therapeutic communication techniques, practices de-escalation techniques, and utilizes recovery-oriented language. Participates in shift report and warm hand-off, MH interdisciplinary treatment team, MH Environment of Care rounds, and responds to psychiatric emergencies as directed. Identify safety concerns and hazardous items to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment of care. Documents nursing assessments, nursing plan of care, and patient safety observations. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Evenings: (6) 12-hour shifts: 11:30am - 12:00 (midnight) and (1) 8-hour shift: 3:30pm - 12:00 (midnight) Nights: (6) 12-hour shifts - 7:30pm to 8:00am and (1) 8-hour shift -11:30pm to 8:00am Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
