Job Description

Billings School District 2 is seeking a Custodian V to perform as working supervisor of a custodial operation.Starts: June 2026:Schedule: 12-Month Position; Monday - Friday; 8 hours per day; Split Shift: 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., (3-hour break/lunch), then 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.Wage: $22.12 per hour for 90 workday probationary period, then $24.58 per hour.Benefits: Full Benefits; Year-Round Fully Paid Insurance; Vacation/Sick Leave; PERS RetirementMinimum Requirements:u2022 High school diploma or equivalent.u2022 Must have a boiler's license to apply.u2022 Minimum of one year of experience in custodial work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.u2022 Thorough knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment and supplies.u2022 Knowledge of effective methods of supervision.u2022 Able to plan, schedule, and supervise work.u2022 Able to establish and maintain effective supervisory and work relationships.u2022 Able to communicate effectively.u2022 Able to deal with public.u2022 Pre-employment physicals are required for this position and paid for by the District.u2022 Has knowledge of painting, general repairs to plumbing, electrical and all other maintenance being performed.Duties may include but are not limited to:u2022 Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and playgrounds neat, clean and safe always.u2022 Sweep and clean classrooms daily.u2022 Clean corridors each day as required.u2022 Scrub, disinfect toilet rooms daily.u2022 Performs flag duties daily.u2022 Open buildings and check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open.u2022 Clean and maintain all boilers, furnaces and other building equipment.u2022 Assume responsibility for general security of building.u2022 Perform emergency duties of cleaning and building maintenance as necessary.u2022 Regulate temperature of building.u2022 Wash windows outside at least twice per year.u2022 Perform yard keeping duties.u2022 Report to administrator all damage, emergencies, repair requests, supply requests, personnel problems and any other information requested by administrator.u2022 Maintain a record of service to all mechanical equipment in building.u2022 Remain on the school premises during duty hours and during other hours when state boiler regulations require the attendance of a licensed operator, also when administrator requests.u2022 Will be responsible for personnel training, supervision, follow-up performance checks, payroll sheets, substitutes, and other records pertaining to custodial staff.u2022 Perform other related work as required.Equal Opportunity Employer.
