JobSummary The Optician at Prevea Health plays a vital role in providingpersonalized vision care by assisting patients in selecting and fittingeyewear based on prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists.This position is responsible for ensuring proper lens crafting, frameadjustment, and education on lens options and eyewear care. The Opticiancollaborates with patients to understand their lifestyle and visualneeds, manages inventory and merchandising in the optical area, andsupports a seamless, high-quality experience in our vision careservices. What you will do Review and interpret prescriptions fromoptometrists or ophthalmologists, assist patients in selecting framesand lenses that suit their prescription, lifestyle, and budget, andprovide guidance on lens materials, coatings, and features. You willensure proper fit and comfort by adjusting frames as needed and willaccurately enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system whileprocessing payments through the designated payment portal. Troubleshootpatient glasses by identifying and resolving issues that affect thepatient's comfort, vision, or the overall quality of their eyewear.Listen to the patient's concerns and address any problems, whetherthey're related to the prescription, frame, lenses, or fit. Conducttelephone triage by assessing patient concerns, determining the urgencyof their needs, and directing them to the appropriate level of care oraction. Responsible for the overall merchandising, cleaning, andmaintenance of the optical area, including ensuring the store is clean,organized, and visually appealing. This includes keeping display tables,window displays, and the sales floor free of dust and clutter, as wellas regularly cleaning and maintaining lenses on display items and testframes. Ensure that glasses meet both the prescription requirements andquality standards. This inspection process includes verifying thelenses, frames, and overall fit to ensure they provide the best visioncorrection and comfort for the wearer.
