This position involves comprehensive patient care across the continuumu2014pre-operative assessment, intra-procedure assistance, and post-procedure recoveryu2014for a variety of outpatient and inpatient procedures. The Endoscopy RN plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients undergoing procedures in pulmonary, gastroenterology, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialties.Key Responsibilities:u00B7 Conduct patient assessments and preparations for endoscopic proceduresu00B7 Provide safe and effective support during procedures, including sedation monitoring and sterile techniqueu00B7 Deliver post-procedure care, monitoring recovery and ensuring patient readiness for discharge or transferu00B7 Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal outcomesu00B7 Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled (6u20138 call shifts/month, including at least one weekend)Qualifications:u00B7 Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact license)u00B7 Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; endoscopy, critical care, or procedural experience preferredu00B7 BLS and ACLS certification requiredu00B7 Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skillsu00B7 Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentAbout Us: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a nationally recognized tertiary care facility and teaching institution.
