Unlock your potential!Job Summary and QualificationsPosition SummaryThe Transport Paramedic willoperateon the HCA FloridaTwin CitiesHospital EMS TransportServicesTeam.The primary duty of the Transport Paramedic will be the safe and effective treatment and transport of patients on theEMS TransportServicesambulance.The Transport Paramedic will respond to EMSCall-Centerrequests, prioritize patient care, coordinate with other healthcare providers, andfacilitatetransport appropriately.The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care duringtransportto the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at the scene,the Paramedicpartners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation.The Paramedicoffers basic and advancedlifesavingsupport, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification.What you will do in this role:Ensures the readiness of HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital EMS ambulances for service.Performs checks on ambulance mechanical systems and all included medical equipment to verify full and safe working pletes daily supplycheckoffs, checks for dated equipmentexpiration, and stocks asappropriate.Maintains an aesthetically clean and safe ambulance and associated work area. Reports all issues of ambulance readiness to the Chief of EMS Operationsimmediately.Available to render BLS and/or ALS mutual aid care to other agencies, mass casualty events, and declared disasters as outlined in Florida Statute Ch. 401. Provides care for patientspursuant tothe Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support guidelines outlined in F.S. 401.25.Operates within Medical Protocolsestablishedby the HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital EMS Medical Director.Demonstrates knowledge and application of intermediate patient care, to include vital signs, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, cardiac monitoring, 12 lead EKG, setting up intravenous fluids, insert/discontinueIVs/IOs, perform CPR, insert Foley catheter, obtain clean catch urinesamplesand transport patientsOperate emergency medicalvehiclesandrespondto calls for aid inemergencysituations.Evaluate patientconditionstoestablishthe right course of treatment. Providing a variety of emergency medicaltreatmentsforinjured, sick, or incapacitated persons.Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.Manage non-medical situations such as crowd control andprotect 4the valuables of a patient if necessary.Lift and transport patients, ensuring patientsremainstable during municate patient data andconditionto professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.What qualifications you will need:Associates Degree in Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic or a Certificate of program completion in Emergency Medical Services (EMT/Paramedic) -requiredCurrently licensed as a Paramedic per state requirementsin accordance withlaw and regulation -required1 years of experience as a field paramedic with an EMS agency and/or clinical experience working in a hospital -requiredBasic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/BCLS)requiredor must be obtained within30 daysof employment start dateAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ALS/ACLS)requiredor must be obtained within90 daysof employment start datePediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)requiredor must be obtained within90 daysof employment start dateNonviolent Crisis Interventionrequiredor must be obtained within90 daysof employment start dateEVOC - Emergency Vehicle Operations Course completion certificate or equivalent -requiredDriver'sLicense - This position requires driving anHCA-ownedvehicle.
