Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products. Program, operate, and troubleshoot industrial laser welding systems and associated robotics. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. 3+ years of experience in industrial laser welding process development and optimization within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated expertise with various laser types (e.g., fiber, YAG) and their application to different materials. Proficiency in laser welding system programming, setup, and troubleshooting of weld defects. Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and their impact on weld quality and mechanical properties. Experience with process validation, quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies related to welding. Bonus Qualifications Experience with robotic programming and integration for automated laser welding systems. Strong understanding of metallurgy and material science related to laser-material interaction. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization. Proficiency in CAD software for fixture design or weld path programming. Experience with advanced metrology and inspection techniques for weld characterization (e.g., CT scanning, X-ray, profilometry).
