We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.TheACHE SEP AdministrativeIntern will participate in a structured 10-week internship designed to expose emerging healthcare leaders to executive leadership, strategic initiatives, and operational management and provide hands-on experience within a nationally recognized comprehensive cancer center.For Summer 2026, the intern willreport to a designated preceptor within Clinical Operations and willwork closely with senior leaders across clinical and nursing operations to gain hands-on experience in complex healthcare delivery environments.Additionally, the intern will contribute to a definedproject andcomplete a capstone presentation at the conclusion of the internship.This role offers a meaningful opportunity for exposure to healthcare operations, change management, and cross-functional collaboration, while supporting real-time operational work that directlyimpactspatient care delivery. It will provide direct exposure to leadership and offers the chance to understand how large academichealth systems translate strategy into operational execution.This internship will follow a project-based model with selective shadowing opportunities as appropriate.Learning ObjectivesParticipants in this internship will gain exposure to:Clinical and nursing operations within a comprehensive cancer center and academic medical systemHealthcare operations across multidisciplinary clinical programsProject management and operational improvement initiativesQuality and performance improvement in clinical environmentsExecutive decision-making and governance processesProgram development and implementation in complex care environmentsACHE Applicants ONLYSchedule: Mon - Fri 8a-5p 10-week internship programThe intern will support strategic and operational initiatives aligned with organizational priorities. Responsibilities may include:Providing project management and coordination support for a key operational initiative related to staffing standardization Assisting with documentation of current-state workflows and operational processes across clinicsSupporting analysis of staffing models, implementation considerations, and operational improvement opportunities Developing executive-ready deliverables, including presentations, summaries, and briefing materials Participating in meetings with nursing leadership, clinical operations teams, and administrative partners Contributing to a capstone project and final presentation to leadershipRequired:Current graduate-level student (MHA, MPH, MBA, or another related degree) participating in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) Strong interest in healthcare leadership, hospital administration, healthcare operations, or quality improvement Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a professional healthcare environmentPreferred:Prior experience in healthcare or healthcare-related research in operations, quality improvement, or project management Proficiencywith Microsoft PowerPoint and ExcelThe hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Schedule: Mon - Fri 8a-5p 10-week internship programAlthough Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).
