Unit Counselor - Residential Camp (Seasonal)Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc.Camp Addisone Boyce| Seasonal, Full-Time | $2,025 - $2,325Position SummaryTo guide campers throughout their camp experience in accordance with standards set by Girl Scouts of the USA, the American Camp Association, and the New York State Department of Health, and to assist the Unit Leader in planning, teaching, and coordinating unit activities.Key Functions & ResponsibilitiesCarry out duties as delegated by the Unit LeaderGet to know the campers in the unit and help them learn to respect the rights of others and understand differences and similarities among campersAssist in teaching camping skills and fostering an appreciation of the outdoorsHelp supervise unit housekeeping, sanitation, and care of supplies and equipmentAssist in guiding unit activities and experiences through troop government, girl-adult planning, and the Girl Scout programServe as a waterfront guard or watcher and/or assist with swimming lessons as requiredPromptly report any illness or injury to the Unit Leader and assist in supervising camper activities to ensure safetyAttend Thursday overnightsThis position description does not state or imply that the responsibilities listed are the only duties to be performed.
