We’re hiring a Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish/English) to join our dermatology team in Tampa, FL (Town & Country). This full-time Medical Assistant position supports both general and cosmetic dermatology and works closely with providers to deliver high-quality patient care. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care, staying organized throughout the day, and communicating with a diverse patient population.Schedule/Hours: Monday - Thursday | 7:00 AM - 5:30/6:00 PMWhy Anne Arundel Dermatology? We offer hands-on training, continuous learning, and long-term growth opportunities within the organization.Room patients, collect medical history, and enter intake details and vital signs accurately into the EMRHelp manage patient flow throughout the day to keep providers on scheduleSet up procedure trays, instruments, and equipment based on provider preferences and clinic protocolsAssist providers with dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and other in-office treatmentsHandle pathology and lab specimens, including proper labeling and routing according to insurance requirementsSupport the administration of local anesthetics as directed by the providerAddress patient questions both in person and over the phone, escalating clinical concerns when appropriateManage daily clinical communications including task lists, nurse line messages, voicemails, faxes, and internal requestsDocument patient interactions and assist with scribing provider notes in the EMR when neededClean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control guidelinesMonitor inventory levels, remove expired supplies, and keep accurate records of medications and materialsOrder and restock clinical supplies to ensure exam rooms and storage areas are fully preparedConduct follow-up outreach for pathology results, document communication, and coordinate next steps per provider directionMaintain compliance with HIPAA and protect patient confidentiality at all timesSupport overall clinic operations by assisting with additional responsibilities as neededAbility to assess and triage patient concerns appropriately within scopeKnowledge of and adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Bloodborne Pathogen standardsExperience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for clinical visitsExperience administering injections in a clinical settingFamiliarity with medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD-10 codingUnderstanding of basic office procedures, including financial and billing policiesComfortable using EMR systems and basic computer applicationsAbility to operate standard office equipment (computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc.)Strong verbal and written communication skillsFluent in English; bilingual Spanish preferred/required (adjust based on your posting)Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environmentWorks well with providers, staff, patients, and visitors in a professional and team-oriented mannerWillingness to travel to additional clinic locations as neededStrong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectivelyAbility to follow both written and verbal instructions accuratelyDetail-oriented with the ability to organize and file information alphabetically and numericallyEducation & Experience:High school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a Medical Assistant program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or a bachelor’s degree in a pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferredCPR certification preferred1-2 years of recent experience in a Medical Assistant, CNA, or similar patient care role preferredDermatology experience is a plus, but not requiredPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workdayFrequent movement including bending, reaching, twisting, and maintaining balanceRegular use of hands and fingers for clinical and administrative tasksAbility to communicate effectively in person and by phone (speaking and listening)Handling of clinic materials, supplies, and equipmentAbility to lift and carry up to 30 poundsExposure to clinical environments, including potential contact with infectious materials, chemicals, and sharp instrumentsBenefits (Full-Time Employees - 30+ hours/week):Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (effective the 1st of the month following start date)Short-term and long-term disability coverageVoluntary life insurance (employee, spouse, and child), Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity plansCompany-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurancePaid time off and paid holidaysRetirement savings planEmployee discounts on cosmetic services and products
