As our Respiratory Therapist, you will evaluate the respiratory needs of your patients. You will also develop and implement the Respiratory Care Plan for your patients. Take the next step in your career.Your duties and responsibilities may include:You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.You must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given.You will perform your procedures with care and empathy for our patients.Requirements: Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensureAmerican Heart Association BLS health care provider required. ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Your role will include: Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.
