Join us on this meaningful journey where your skills, compassion and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve.More about our teamOur Medical Surgical unit is 60-beds split between 2 floors, and ourteam provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and reports to the Director or Manager of Department.How you'll contributeA Medical Surgical RNwho excels in this role:Performs duties as assigned and pletesfocusedpatient assessments and reassessments based on patient's condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.Adequately assesses and reassesses pain;utilizesappropriate painmanagement techniques.Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.Assistsphysicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.Performs treatments and delivers care withinlicensurescope.Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.Maintains regular and reliable attendance.Performs other duties as assigned.Why join usWe believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Additional requirements include:Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NRP, Handle with Care, preferred within one year of hire.Experience: One-year previous experience preferredLicenses: Must have a current state or compact state RN license.Education: Associate's degree required.
