Quality ManagerLocation: Russell Springs, KYIndustry: Automotive - Plastic & Rubber MoldingPosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on, plant-floor-oriented Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management System and restore world-class performance in a demanding automotive manufacturing environment.This is not a maintenance role for an existing system — this is a rebuild and stabilization role. Customers are highly engaged, expectations are high, and the business requires a leader who can drive accountability, enforce standards, and reduce escapes at the source.You will be highly visible with customers and deeply involved in daily operations, not just documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the plant’s Quality Management System and ensure ongoing compliance with IATF 16949Drive reduction of scrap (currently ~9%, target ≤2%) and eliminate customer escapesStrengthen quality at the source and cell level, ensuring layered process control is effectiveLead customer-facing quality activities including visits, audits, corrective actions, and containmentEnsure proper execution of AIAG Core Tools in practice, not just on paperOwn internal audits, customer audits, and certification readinessOversee deviation management and engineering change processes to ensure corrective actions are completed and sustainedDevelop and rebuild accountability within a large quality teamPartner with operations, engineering, and tooling to improve process stabilityReplace reactive firefighting with structured problem-solving and standard workRequired BackgroundAutomotive manufacturing experience is mandatoryExperience in plastic injection molding and/or rubber compression molding environments strongly preferredProven leadership of a plant-level Quality Management SystemStrong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)Experience leading customer-facing quality in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentDemonstrated success reducing scrap, escapes, and cost of poor qualityComfortable leading through change and restoring process discipline in a struggling operationWhat Success Looks LikeScrap reduced from current levels toward targetFewer customer complaints and improved scorecardsStable, audit-ready systems that are followed in daily practiceStronger culture of accountability and adherence to standardsSalary Range: $110,000 - $145,000Benefits: MDV, 401k, PTO plus more!
