Project Estimator, Plumbing

Join the Feldkamp Enterprises Team Feldkamp Enterprises, Inc., a Marsden Company, is a trusted non-union mechanical contractor based in Cincinnati, Ohio. We specialize in commercial and industrial HVAC installation, retrofit, and mechanical systems. Our team is growing—and we're looking for Project Estimator to join our plumbing team. The Project Estimator, Plumbing will support the Senior Plumbing Estimator. This role is responsible for reviewing construction documents, performing accurate material takeoffs, and preparing cost estimates for plumbing systems in commercial and large multi-use projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, suppliers, and clients. Key Responsibilities: Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project scope and requirementsPerform detailed quantity takeoffs for plumbing valves, fittings, and related componentsPrepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, including labor, materials, and equipmentSource pricing from vendors and suppliers; maintain updated pricing databasesIdentify scope gaps, discrepancies, and value engineering opportunitiesCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams during preconstruction and bidding phasesPrepare and submit bid proposals and supporting documentationTrack and manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneouslyAssist with change orders, cost tracking, and project budgeting as neededMaintain organized records of estimates, drawings, and communications Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in plumbing estimating, takeoffs, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of plumbing systems, valves, fittings, and materialsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools Solid understanding of construction costs and market pricingExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working with mechanical/plumbing contractors or suppliersTrimble Autobid Mechanical experience is a plusFamiliarity with local plumbing codes and standardsField work with plumbing Work Environment Office-based with occasional site visits as neededFast-paced environment with multiple deadlines Benefits: 401(k) with company matchingHealth, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurancePaid time offEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Referral program Schedule Full-time, exempt, 40 hours/weekTypical workday is 7:00am - 4:00pm Equal Opportunity Employer Feldkamp Enterprises is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
