Description POSITION TITLE: WESTSIDE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE DEPARTMENT: SERVICE EXTENSION STATUS: NON-EXEMPT/REGULAR-FULL TIME SUPERVISOR: SERVICE EXTENSION DIRECTOR GENERAL STATEMENT:The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is the spiritual regeneration of all people. SCOPE OF POSITION: u2022 Provide coordination, oversight, and support to volunteer-led Service Extension Units and community partners throughout Western Washingtonu2022 Serving as a key liaison between The Salvation Army, community stakeholders, volunteers, and Divisional Headquarters (DHQ), this position strengthens unit operations, expands community relationships, and ensures consistent and compassionate service delivery in alignment with Salvation Army mission, policies, and standards.u2022 Key leadership role in administering the voucher program, seasonal campaigns and programs, including the iconic Red Kettle Campaign and Camp Arnold participation, helping communities plan, execute, and celebrate meaningful impact. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Service Extension Unit Support & Coordinationu2022 Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Service Extension Units in Western Washington.u2022 Provide guidance, coaching, and ongoing support to volunteers, community groups, and local leaders to ensure effective operations and mission alignment.u2022 Assist units with planning, implementation, and evaluation of services and programs, including emergency assistance, seasonal programs, special projects, Red Kettle Campaign activities, and Camp participation.u2022 Conduct regular site visits and maintain consistent communication with volunteers and community partners.u2022 Support unit sustainability through leadership development, volunteer succession planning, and sharing of best practices.u2022 Ensure compliance with Salvation Army policies, procedures, reporting requirements, and deadlines.u2022 Support completion and submission of required statistical, financial, and narrative reports.u2022 Assist with volunteer onboarding, background checks, training coordination, and maintenance of required records.u2022 Ability to travel to community meetings and eventsCommunity Liaison & Volunteer Engagementu2022 Build and maintain positive working relationships with community partners, civic leaders, churches, agencies, and donors.u2022 Represent The Salvation Army at community meetings, coalitions, and public events.u2022 Serve as a liaison between Service Extension Units and Divisional Headquarters.u2022 Identify community needs and communicate opportunities for collaboration, partnership, and growth.u2022 Recruit, onboard, train, and support volunteers and community partners.u2022 Provide guidance regarding volunteer roles, expectations, accountability, and appropriate boundaries.u2022 Promote volunteer engagement and retention through communication, encouragement, and recognition efforts.u2022 Support development of volunteer leadership within Service Extension Units.Seasonal Campaigns & Program Oversightu2022 Provide coordination and oversight for seasonal campaigns and programs, including the Red Kettle Campaign, holiday assistance, back-to-school initiatives, and other outreach efforts.u2022 Serve as the primary Service Extension liaison for Red Kettle Campaign planning and execution within assigned communities.u2022 Support early planning, site coordination, volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and partner engagement for seasonal programs.u2022 Ensure seasonal campaigns follow divisional timelines, standards, and reporting requirements.u2022 Assist with post-season follow-up, volunteer appreciation, and partner recognition.u2022 Promote and support Camp Arnold participation across Service Extension communities.u2022 Assist Service Extension Units with identifying eligible children and families and coordinating registration and logistics.u2022 Serve as a liaison between Service Extension communities and Camp Arnold staff to support positive camper experiences.u2022 Provide local-level support for Emergency Disaster Services activities when requested.Administrative & Program Supportu2022 Maintain accurate documentation, correspondence, schedules, and records related to Service Extension operations.u2022 Track unit activity, community contacts, volunteer engagement, and seasonal program participation.u2022 Communicate regularly with the Service Extension Director and divisional staff regarding field activity, trends, and emerging needs.u2022 Perform other related duties as assigned. Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year Working Conditions:This position is a home based/remote role with extensive field work across Western Washington. Frequent local and regional travel required; occasional divisional travel expected. The role requires regular use of a computer and technology, including email, virtual meetings, data systems, and webu2011based platforms. Must be able to work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining communication, organization, and responsiveness. Work Schedule / Location: This position is a home based/remote role with extensive field work across Western Washington.
