Job Title: Inspector Job Description The Inspector will be responsible for visually inspecting and checking plastic parts to ensure they meet the set standards. This role requires attention to detail in identifying quality issues such as visual defects, color inconsistencies, burrs, chips, flashes, and cuts. The inspector will report any parts that do not meet quality standards to the inspection supervisor. The use of fixed gauges to test products is essential, and the inspector will perform gauge inspections at a required rate per hour. Training on gauge usage will be provided. Additionally, the inspector will pack parts into boxes, ensuring packaging dividers are inspected to prevent damage based on size, shape, and color. Responsibilities + Visually inspect and check plastic parts for quality defects. + Reject and separate parts that do not meet standards. + Identify reasons for failure such as quality, visual defects, color, burrs, chips, flashes, and cuts. + Notify inspection supervisor of parts that do not meet quality standards. + Use fixed gauges to test products for radial, plug, or thickness issues. + Perform gauge inspections at the required rate per hour. + Train in the use of gauges for inspection. + Pack parts into boxes, inspect packaging dividers, and prevent damage to plastic parts. + Lift up to 20 lbs as necessary. Essential Skills + Experience with inspecting, counting, sorting, and verifying products. + Ability to document work accurately. + Packing experience. + Must have experience with machine operating and measuring. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + Possess steel toe boots. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Team lead or supervision experience. + Bilingual capabilities, especially in English, are a significant advantage. Why Work Here? The facility houses newer, state-of-the-art machinery and is a smaller plastic manufacturer, which may make the environment warmer. Employees are required to wear steel toe boots. The standard shift runs from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BRIDGEVIEW, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
