Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lakeville, Minnesota. In this role, you will work collaboratively within the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with tax regulations. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in corporate tax and general ledger management. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. u2022 Manage sales tax filings and address related inquiries. u2022 Record and reconcile journal entries, maintaining accuracy and completeness. u2022 Oversee general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and timely updates. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end and year-end closing processes. u2022 Conduct financial analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions. u2022 Provide support during audits by preparing required documentation and reports. u2022 Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for easy retrieval and reference. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing. u2022 Proficiency in managing sales tax compliance processes. u2022 Strong understanding of journal entry creation and reconciliation. u2022 Demonstrated expertise in general ledger accounting practices. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software and tools. u2022 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. u2022 Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
