This position performs moderately complex, journey-level computer systems support. Responsibilities include providing customer support for agency IT systems and assisting with the operation of automated office equipment. The role may also involve training other staff.Duties include updating, maintaining, and supporting end-user authentication systems, as well as creating, deleting, and managing email and server accounts. The IT Systems Support Specialist will provide desktop support to end users and help ensure compliance with applicable agency, state, and federal statutes and policies.The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move equipment, including printers, computers, and monitors. Work is performed under general supervision, with some opportunity to exercise independent judgment. Additional related duties may be assigned as needed.Essential Job FunctionsProvides first-level support to end users and administers end-user accounts.Answers Help Desk phones and documents end-user service requests in the Help Desk ticket system. Provides quality customer service.Trains users in the proper use of hardware or software.Administers end-user accounts in Microsoft Active Directory and also on agency Unix servers, mainframe, and appliances.Monitors, identifies, and addresses potential security issues and security incidents.Maintains the RRC end-user desktop environment using desktop management tools.Sets up IT-related equipment for agency use.Maintains current knowledge of emerging desktop technologies, standards, and software tools.Provide good customer service.Performs other duties as assigned.May require some travel.For Military Crosswalk information, please visit: Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.At least one (1) year of relevant professional experience providing IT computer systems support.A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in customer service.Experience requirements may be fulfilled concurrently.Education and experience may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year ba is.Preferred QualificationsCompletion of computer science coursework at the high school or college level.Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM).Experience using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).Experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications.Experience supporting Windows 11 environments.Experience working with Active Directory.Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library); certification pTIA A+, MCDST, MCP, and/or MCSE certifications are desirable.Familiarity with Jira Service Management.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSkill in troubleshooting information systems.Skill in analyzing problems and devising solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.Ability to communicate effectively and to train others.Proficiency in personal computer operations, specifically MS Office Suites.Ability to provide excellent customer service and perform and prioritize job duties/workload while meeting deadlines.Ability to work on tasks requiring meticulous attention to detail.Ability to respond to rapidly changing pace and workload.Ability to respond to rapidly changing pace and workload.Ability to work effectively on a team, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as needed, and to be available for occasional weekend duty.Work Hours:and#8239;Standard office hours for Commission employees are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
