Senior Financial Analyst, AWS Services

DescriptionAWS Finance seeks a world-class Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member of a high-performing team supporting a strategic portfolio of AWS services. This role works closely with finance management as well as key business partners to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership. You will support end-to-end P&Ls for several dependent services within the AWS Streaming and Messaging, working across multiple business and finance teams to drive insights into business performance, lead key financial processes and projects, and champion process improvements across the organization. You will manage multiple time-sensitive deliverables across teams, proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities, and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders. Strong business partnership and communication skills are essential. This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem-solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. With regular interaction across various business units at Amazon, strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical to success. Key job responsibilities - Own service-level P&L reporting and consolidated financial views across a portfolio of AWS services, including variance analysis and executive-ready commentary for WBR/MBR/QBR and annual OP planning reviews - Build complex financial models, analytical tools, and short- and long-range forecasts to measure performance against goals - Identify and quantify Risks & Opportunities (R&O), proactively surfacing trends and anomalies to drive decisions - Drive financial controllership across the portfolio: ensure accuracy in cost allocation, billing, and financial presentation - Collaborate with finance and business leaders u2014 including GMs, PMs, and Engineers u2014 to provide analytical support for strategic decisions and drive alignment across teams - Improve P&L performance through deep analysis of revenue trends, usage patterns, cost drivers, and operational efficiencies; support ad-hoc strategic projects and evaluate new business ideas - Write and present narratives for senior leadership that clearly communicate performance, risks, opportunities, and recommendations - Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and standardization, to increase reporting reliability and efficiencyBasic Qualifications- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Preferred Qualifications- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - MBA, or CPA - Knowledge of Tableau Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
