Job Description

The Workers' Compensation Coordinator will be responsible forreviewing, adjusting and paying the injured employee's medical bills,as well as other related expenses. Assist the Claims Representatives toensure indemnity payments are made to the injured worker in a timely andaccurate manner. Inputting the payments and sending the requiredpaperwork to the Department of Industrial Accidents and the anize and maintain a tracking system for department files,correspondence, and projects; exercise independent judgment in advisingdepartment managers and staff of deadlines for various departmentactivities and reports; and manage incoming calls. Minimum Requirements& Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D. from anaccredited institution. Two (2) years of experience in insurance claimsor medical administration/billing. Proven knowledge of laws andregulations governing Workers' Compensation, FMLA, and ADA. Experiencein an environment that requires staff to maintain and protect personaland confidential medical records in accordance with HIPPA, Local, Stateand Federal statutes. Demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel andDatabase applications. Effective confidentiality, documentation,multi-tasking, time management and interpersonal skills. The ability toprovide internal and external customers with a courteous andprofessional experience. The ability to supervise and work effectivelywith a diverse workforce. Bachelor's degree from an accreditedinstitution in Public Health, Health Sciences, Business Administrationor related field. Two (2) years of experience managing Workers'Compensation claims, knowledge of International Classification ofDisease (ICD) diagnosis codes, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)treatment codes and the Department of Industrial Accidents' UtilizationReview Guidelines.
