Our Hematology & Oncology Unit cares for patients receiving chemotherapy, blood products, and complex medical treatments. As a Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR), you are the central hub of communication for the unitu2014supporting nurses, providers, patients, and families to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations. What You'll Do u2022 Serving as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, visitors, and interdepartmental communication u2022 Supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges within the electronic medical record u2022 Assisting nurses and providers with coordination of care and message routing u2022 Maintaining accurate documentation, patient charts, and unit logs u2022 Scheduling tests, procedures, and patient transport as requested u2022 Ensuring workstations, supply areas, and communication tools remain organized and up to date u2022 Supporting patient flow in a fast-paced, specialized care environment What We're Looking For + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. + Experience: One year of experience in healthcare, preferred. + Licensure/certification/registration: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. + Additional skills preferred: Experience with answering multiple phone lines.
