Responsibilities The EMT/Basic is responsible for delivering and administering high quality care and transportation to ill and injured persons. The EMT/Basic must demonstrate clinical competency and compassion in providing for physical and emotional needs of patients. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Experience as an EMT preferred. A baccalaureate degree is preferred. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write, and speak in English.Current certification as a Nationally Registered EMT/Basic. Current Florida EMT/Basic Licensure/Certification. Current American Heart Association certification (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider). Current Red Cross certification (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers). Current Military Training Network certification. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy. Exemption Status Nonexempt Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
