*Production Engineer Manager** **Ultium Cells Overview:** Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. Ultium Cells’ partners include LG Energy Solution, Ltd.; the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive battery cells, and General Motors; a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around. **Position Description:** This position will manage the technical team responsible for engineering work that includes continuous improvement, investigating and troubleshooting equipment/manufacturing/facility problems, analyzing production results, implementing and improving manufacturing methods and processes, and ensuring high yield and productivity in a highly automated manufacturing environment. Position requires some on-call support. **Job Responsibilities:** Part Leader ensures continuous process improvement and maintain machines through teamwork and clear communication. Co-work with production and process engineers and relative teams for success in the team’s goals and for future opportunities. • Own daily production results (Production target, Yield, POR, Loss) and drive recovery plans when targets are missed. • Manage manpower allocation and operational readiness to support production plans. • Ensure standard work compliance and discipline on the production floor. • Drive proactive defect prevention activities through SPC, control plans, and process audits. • Lead root cause analysis (5Why, Fishbone, A3) for quality excursions and implement permanent corrective actions. • Prevent recurrence of quality issues by updating SOPs, training operators, and strengthening controls. • Communicate production risks, constraints, and recovery plans clearly to internal stakeholders and customers. • Arrange technical support (working with OEM/ machine makers) to operational team for NND production. • Coordinate closely with Process, Quality, Equipment, Facilities, Supply Chain, OEM and Planning teams to maintain production stability. • Report every NND production related items to TL and Director of Electrode with data analysis. • Cooperate with other global LG Energy Solution battery manufacturing sites to share knowledge or Electrode/Cell Assembly Process. • Actively involved in solving issues with previous and post process of NND process and lead the engineering & operational team to approach solving problems. • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs • Practical knowledge and willingness to further develop in the area of mechanics / electrics / pneumatics and controls • Implements strategies to improve equipment uptime and availability • Additional duties as assigned **Qualifications and Competencies:** • Bachelor's Degree required, Engineering or Engineering Technology required • 5-8 years of management or supervision experience highly desirable • 5-8 years of Battery Cell Production experience highly desirable • Driven by objectives/KPI’s; consistent; and high personal ownership to upholding accountability to established standards and practices • Ability to use Logical thinking and decision making by focusing on identifying root cause objectively using data, analyzing production results, and following proven problem-solving methods • Knowledge of Mechanical/technical curiosity and mindset • Commitment and desire to learn our complex battery manufacturing processes with the goal of becoming a go-to resource for technical problem-solving discussions • Effective communication and presentation skills • MS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skills • Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets • Good computer, Troubleshooting, Problem-solving, Critical thinking skills • Ability to work well in a team environment a requirement **Total Rewards Information:** We offer market-competitive compensation including base pay and incentive compensation opportunities based on the achievement of Company goals.
