The position will require sound editorial judgment, quick decision making, and the ability to interact with the entire production staff during live studio and remote programming.u00a0 Responsibilities:u00a0 + Develop,u00a0compileu00a0and circulate information about sports and athletes across NBC platforms including but not limited to MLB, NBA/WNBA, NFL, Olympics and Paralympics, College Football & Basketball, Golf, Premier League, Horse Racing, Motorsports and Cyclingu00a0 + Maintain the accuracy and integrity of on-air contentu00a0 + Be a constructive teammate by working with producers and on-air talent to develop story ideas, gather story-related research, and fact check scripts (both pre-produced and live broadcast)u00a0 + Prepare on-air talent prior to shows, and provideu00a0accurate, on the spot information during broadcasts including in various capacities in studios, control rooms and on remote, sometimes as the only production representative with talentu00a0 + Duties include contributing to production and editorial meetings,u00a0creatingu00a0andu00a0writingu00a0a daily research and story memo for production and talent, and responding to specific research requestsu00a0 + Researchers are expected to become experts in the stories, athletes, rules, results, and histories in every sport televised by NBC Sportsu00a0 + Be prepared to contribute to research projects across NBC Sports properties including supporting game and event production with notes and briefingsu00a0 + Operation of on-airu00a0tickeru00a0 + Collaboration with internal and external teams and vendors to pursue and integrate technological advances in workflowsu00a0 + Work directly with Department leadership on special projects including but not limited to presentations, calendar management, and scheduling.u00a0 Basic Requirements:u00a0 + Minimum one (1) year of experience in sports journalism or related field or equivalent work experienceu00a0 + Submission of writing samplesu00a0 + Excellent writing skills with proven journalistic writing abilityu00a0 + Demonstrated editorial judgment and commitment to accuracyu00a0 + Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and meet deadlinesu00a0 + Strong interpersonal and communication skillsu00a0 Desired Characteristics:u00a0 + Previousu00a0demonstrated excellence working on a national or regional sports television production or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.u00a0 + Candidates should be versatile, self-motivated,u00a0energeticu00a0and able to work well both independently and as part of a groupu00a0 + Sound editorial judgment and clear, efficient writing abilityu00a0 + Strong background in journalism - specifically, experience as a senior writer or editor at a college or professional daily newspaper or top line magazineu00a0 + Experience with providing sports information for on-air broadcastersu00a0 + Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, sustain focus on assigned duties and multi-tasku00a0 + Experience in news gathering and/or working in studio productionu00a0 + Strong working knowledge of various research sources and methodsu00a0 Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
