Technical Associate I, Langer Lab + Job Number: 25601 + Functional Area: Research - Scientific + Department: Koch Inst - Integrative Cancer Research + School Area: VP Research + Pay Range Minimum: $50,000 + Pay Range Maximum: $63,000 + Employment Type: Full-Time + Employment Category: Exempt + Visa Sponsorship Available: No + Schedule: + Pay Grade: No Grade Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Posting Description TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, LANGER LAB (, Koch Institute ( (KI) for Integrative Cancer Research (multiple openings), to join the Jaklenec Group and support our interdisciplinary and dynamic team with the development of injectable drug delivery systems for vaccines and small molecule therapeutics; contribute to a diverse range of therapeutic areas; be responsible for end-to-end fabrication of drug or vaccine delivery materials using semiconductor industry manufacturing techniques and surgical-level dexterity; administration of intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intraperitoneal injections in animal models (mice, rat, etc.), in-vivo imaging and collection of animal samples/specimen, including blood and/or tissues, for quantitative or qualitative analysis, conducting in-vitro release kinetics and biological assays (e.g., ELISA), designing and executing experiments for formulation, development, optimization, characterization of drug delivery systems using analytical techniques/instruments [dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and maintenance of various types of cell lines. Job Requirements REQUIRED: Bacheloru2019s degree in biological sciences, material science, engineering, or relevant field; two years of specialized lab experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); willingness to work with animals, including performing injections and collecting animal bio samples; experience working with and maintaining technical instruments/equipment; comfort summarizing and reporting results to researchers; commitment to exceeding quality standards; strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and communication skills; practiced documentation skills; ability to follow safety procedures; willingness to learn new tools and techniques and work independently and as part of a team; and plan, organize, and coordinate work assignment/experiments simultaneously. PREFERRED: Relevant experience with micro molding techniques, lipid nanoparticle synthesis, and/or microneedle fabrication; and experience with characterizing drug delivery materials, biological assays, and working with animals; and experience with any of the following topics including drug delivery, controlled release, biomaterials, chemistry, protein stability, molecular biology, immunology, and/or virology.
