Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant: Summerhill Landscapes, Inc. (Sag Harbor, NY) seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions for the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, supporting strategic planning and leading budgeting and forecasting processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, bank reconciliations and general ledger. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure accurate data collection and financial reporting for sales tax purposes. Prepare, review, and implement strategies to optimize cash flow and maintain healthy cash reserves. Coordinate with external accountants for year-end tax preparation and audits. Work with department managers to ensure accurate job costing and budget tracking and provide recommendations based on financial analysis. Support vendor and subcontractor management from a financial and contractual standpoint. Requirements: 3 years of experience as an accountant or similar role, including at least 1 year of experience in: coordinating month-end close process; analysis/validation of monthly results; balance sheet control and monthly reconciliation review; providing finance expertise and ongoing support to company; liaising with external auditors to prepare statutory financial statements; responsibility for finance aspects of acquisitions, mergers and liquidations; collaboration with local and global teams to drive process improvement initiatives; leading and developing other team members; drive succession planning and people development strategies with management; developing effective working relationships with key stakeholders; supporting leadership with queries, reporting and ad hoc tasks.
