Aircraft Composite Specialist TechnicianPosition Overview:A leading aerospace company is seeking anAircraft Composite Specialist Technicianto perform hands-on repairs and maintenance on composite aircraft structures. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing complex composite components while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards.Key Responsibilities: Performdamage assessment, repair planning, and hands-on repairson composite aircraft structures.Fabricate, repair, and assemble composite components following engineering specifications.Utilize advanced composite repair techniques, such asscarfing, bonding, and patch repairs.Operate and maintainvacuum bagging systems, autoclaves, and ovensto ensure proper material processing.Conductnon-destructive testing (NDT) and inspectionsto assess damage and ensure adherence to quality terpretengineering drawings, blueprints, and repair manualsto execute precise repairs.Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and recommend performance improvements.Follow strictsafety protocolswhile handling hazardous materials and working in confined spaces.Maintaindetailed recordsof repairs, inspections, and part replacements.Stay up to date with advancements in composite materials and repair technologies. Qualifications: 5+ years of experiencein composite repair and fabrication, preferably in the aerospace industry.High school diploma or GED; additional certifications in composite repair or aerospace standards preferred.Strong knowledge ofcomposite materials, resins, and bonding agentsused in aviation.Proficiency in usinghand tools and composite repair equipment.Ability to read and interprettechnical drawings, engineering instructions, and FAA guidelines.Experience withnon-destructive testing (NDT) methodsfor composite structures.Excellentcommunication and teamwork skillsto collaborate across various teams.Strongproblem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work in afast-paced environment with shifting priorities.Physical ability tolift 10-35 pounds, work in confined spaces, and handle hazardous materials. Bonus Qualifications: Experience withFAA aircraft certification requirements, including Part 23 certification.Advanced certifications incomposite repair techniques or NDT methods.Knowledge ofsustainable practices in composite manufacturing.Experience withnew product development for composite aviation pletion ofadvanced training in composite manufacturing and repair techniques.
