Job Description: Key Responsibilities:Demonstrate advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and complex repairs as it pertains trailer maintenance, air brake systems, and FHWA InspectionsTroubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform the most difficult repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and exceed company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelinesParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairsUnderstand and effectively follow all shop safety proceduresMaintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all timesComplete secondary maintenance on escalated repairsMay troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair specialized trailer equipment, such as refrigerated unitsMay onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasksQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age with 3 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentAND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesAt least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakesAble to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase programWillingness to work outdoors in the elementsAble to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if neededPreferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentEPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration LicenseAdvanced welding skills (MIG and stick)Knowledge of ABS systemsAbility to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamProficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)This position is not eligible for employment-based pensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
