Main position objectivesThe Fabricator position will set up, operate, saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material. Position description Tasks, responsibilities, competencies Controls machines and processes using direct physical activity to operate machines or processes. Handles and moves objects using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials. Inspecta equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of problems or defect. Performa physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Lifta raw materials manually or using hoist. Measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills. Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel & Stainless Steel. Uses computers and computer systems to program and setup functions, enter data, or process information. Reads blueprints. Operates forklift Tests, measures and adjusts machines when needed. Provides a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task Ability to multitask Keep work area clean and organized Candidate must be reliable Ability to use grinding tools Follow all safety rules and quality standards Follow all company rules and policies Work Environment Work in this position is both in an office and a factory floor environment, either locally or at a customer site. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
