The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.JOB PURPOSEThe Technical Specialist is responsible for providing quality technical support and for developing the technical competencies of the customer and internal personnel on the Continuous Miner product lines.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical ExpertiseProvides technical training to the service network on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practicesProvides technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel in cases of complex technical issuesDeliver relevant feedback to factories to enable improvements to the equipment or its operationAssists in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvementsReviews spare parts recommendations and develop accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC)Assists factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operationPerforms equipment demonstrations in a safe mannerPlan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to all work missioning of products that includes pre-delivery inspections and hot (operational and at customer site) commissioning.Customer ServiceProvide on-site technical assistance to resolve issuesAssists customers and co workers with parts interpretations and recommended stock holdingsDevelop customer relationships to ensure customers have a positive experience and remain loyal to the Sandvik brandAssist sales in evaluation of potential applications and machine options.Safety and EnvironmentComplies with safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirementsIdentifies and reports any unsafe work habitsStrives to find safer ways for customers to work with Sandvik’s productsPersonal LeadershipEnsures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and ProceduresTakes responsibility for personal development and enhancement of skillsProactively ensures community involvement within the area of responsibilitySpecial Requirements:The role will require working undergroundAbility to travel is essentialForeign language (German) an assetEXPERIENCEMinimum of 7 years of Technical experience.Must possess training in key aspects of underground mining.EDUCATION2-year Technical Degree in a mechanical, electrical discipline or equivalent experience.LICENCES & CERTIFICATESPossess a valid driver’s licenseMust possess or be able to obtain a passport.OTHERPosition to be located in the North eastern US (PA/WV/NY/OH/KY).COMPETENCIESAbility to work in a team environmentWritten and verbal communication skillsAbility to train and transfer knowledge skillsFlexible, self-motivated, and driven to achieve customer satisfaction goals and targetsStrong investigation and diagnostic skillsComputer literacyFlexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiativeKnowledge of customers' industrySuperior customer relations and active listening skillsBenefitsSandvik offers a comprehensive total compensation package including a competitive benefits package of health, dental and disability insurance, and a 401(k)-retirement savings plan.
