Join a high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) team dedicated to delivering specialized care for adult cardiac patients in Cottondale, Alabama. This position offers a contract opportunity to work within an 8-bed unit focusing on complex monitoring and treatment of patients transferred from the Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and Acute Care areas. It offers convenient access to nearby metropolitan areas while providing a close-knit, supportive environment for healthcare professionals to thrive.Responsibilities: Provide expert nursing care in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Monitor and manage complex cardiac patients post-procedures and during acute episodes Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient-centered care Float to other units and hospitals as needed to support staffing demands Work a flexible schedule, including every other weekend and holidays as required Qualifications and Experience: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required Valid Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact license (Temp licenses not accepted) Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIH or Red Cross equivalent Minimum of 18 months nursing experience with at least 1 recent year in a specialty cardiac or critical care setting; 2 years preferred PALS certification preferred if assigned to pediatric units Schedule: Option for 36 or 48 hours per week Includes holiday shifts and every other weekend rotation This contract role is ideal for RNs seeking flexibility and an opportunity to enhance their expertise in cardiac critical care.
