The unit currently includes 16 inpatient beds, with planned expansion to 30 beds. The hospital campus also includes a newly built Women’s and Babies Center and a Level III NICU, supporting comprehensive pediatric and neonatal care.The pediatric medical staff is multidisciplinary and collaborative, including pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, neurologists, ophthalmologists, pediatric surgeons, and advanced practice providers. Our team delivers high-quality, family-centered care with strong subspecialty support.Providers also benefit from 24/7 access to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, which is nationally ranked in all 11 pediatric specialties by U.S. News & World Report. Through bedside telemedicine, providers have real-time consultation with pediatric subspecialists and intensivists, ensuring expert-level support for complex cases at all times.APP Transition-to-Practice ProgramThis position includes participation in a structured 6-month Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Transition-to-Practice Program, designed to support the successful transition to autonomous clinical practice in the inpatient pediatric hospital setting. This comprehensive training period provides dedicated onboarding, educational curriculum, mentorship, and progressive clinical responsibility.The curriculum is designed to develop the medical knowledge, critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and procedural skills required to care for hospitalized pediatric patients. The APP is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The APP has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.
